What first got you into visual arts?
Art was one of my favourite subjects at school, so after my A levels I decided to do a foundation course. This was where I really got into illustration. Meeting new people on the course and sharing ideas in the studio allowed me to learn about so many great artists and illustrators, who I still admire now. Read more

James Chapman uses cartoons to help explain comical idiosyncrasies and multi-cultural themes from across the world. For example did you know that in English, dogs go “woof”, but in Romanian they go “ham!”? Neither did we but this, along with other strange insights, form his never-ending insights and funny work.

How did you develop your style?
My style pretty much comes from any cartoons from the past 20 years, I’ve always watched them and tried to draw my own versions so I think that’s all fed into my current style. Read more

British interiors brand Brennan & Burch sees Lisa Brennan’s colourful illustrations and hand-drawn characters decorate wallpapers, furniture, rugs and prints come to life. Co-founders Lisa & Majida have been friends since the 1980s and started their independent fashion brand specialising in limited edition streetwear in 2000 to celebrate popular culture and their love of movements like rockabillies, punk, casuals and acid house. For 10 years selling worldwide at super cool stores like La Foret Harajuku, Selfridges and Topshop, they turned their effort to the home and branched out into interiors where clients have included Heals, Paul Smith and Hotel Pelirocco. Here Lisa tells us more about her creative world.
