Ben Javens Eye Candy Commission

We commissioned Birmingham artist and illustrator Ben Javens to produce a new installation for Eye Candy this year.

The new wall piece has been produced on wood, hand cut by Ben and painted in Cyan, Magenta, Black and White then assembled on a wall in Birmingham’s Arcadian Centre in the Southside district of the city.

“We’ve wanted to commission a piece with Ben ever since Eye Candy started four years ago,” comments Kerry O’Coy, one of the curator’s of the annual event. “We are always looking for the right spaces to match with the right artist. Getting the fit can take some time but on this occasion it worked perfectly. Ben’s signature style has been installed in large-scale and it’s had a great response from the Arcadian’s owners”.

You can go and see the piece on the ground floor of the Arcadian outside of Ladbrokes.
